Ambassador Award
The Ambassador Award goes to an individual in unit 165 who goes the extra mile to promote bridge. That can be someone who is volunteers his or her time, teaches, directs, or creates a desire in others to play bridge. This person sees a job to be done and does it with a smile.
2020 Ambassador Award Winner – Jan Wooters Bruce
The Ambassador Award goes to an individual who goes the extra mile to promote bridge and the 2020 recipient certainly does that. In the past four years Jan Wooters Bruce has been actively working to bring new players to the game of bridge. She has taught bridge at the Abingdon College for Older Adults and has offered mentoring and teaching classes to help transition new players into the club games. That has benefited not only the Abingdon Bridge Club but also the surrounding clubs. In addition, Jan is the club treasurer and is involved in all of the Abingdon Bridge Club events. Please join us in recognizing Jan for her volunteer spirit and all her efforts to promote the game of bridge.
