We are deeply saddened to share the news that Jim Ricker passed away on October 2, 2025. His presence, kindness, and dedication touched many lives, and their loss will be felt profoundly by all who knew Jim.

Jim Ricker, named ABTA Teacher of the Year in 2019, was a bridge educator, club owner, and author based in Knoxville. Jim authored three textbooks designed for classroom use, with a focus on teaching 2/1 from the ground up. He was known for his engaging lessons, structured programs, and emphasis on creating a welcoming, supportive environment for learners.
